Serving the Children of the World
Welcome To The Alameda West Kiwanis Web Site!
Our defining statement "Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time" appears on every page of our site and it says it all. The Alameda West Kiwanis Club has been living this mission since its founding in 1966 - both with globally- and locally-focused projects.
And we've had a great deal of fun doing it! We get as much as we give, making life-long friends along the way.
Help us Eliminate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus!!!!
Our club is a Charity Partner of the Colfax Marathon to be held May 18-19, 2013, raising funds for The Eliminate Project. Eliminate is a joint effort of Kiwanis International and UNICEF dedicated to eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus (MNT) from the world. MNT is a preventable tragedy! Each year, nearly 60,000 babies die (along with far too many mothers) when for only $1.80 each, lives could be saved with vaccinations and education. For more information about MNT and The Eliminate Project, go to The Eliminate Project web page.
What can you do to help? If you're a runner, register with the Colfax Marathon and select the Alameda West Kiwanis Eliminate Project to run for. Then become a fundraiser or make a donation by going to our fundraising page at:
http://active.com/donate/AWKiwanisEliminate. Or send a check, payable to Kiwanis Club of Alameda West Foundation, Inc. (Eliminate), P. O. Box 150583, Lakewood, CO 80215. We are a tax deductible 501(c)(3).
